Does your department need to increase diversity? There are a couple of lesbians with openings today.
Oh, I'm so bad.

2012BOSS302I'd say she won that coin toss and should be happy she wasn't arrested.

mikeyspizzaThey didn't arrest her based on the coin flip. Heads was arrest and tails was release. It came up tails and they arrested her.
IMO they should not have been fired. They were just goofing around between themselves.

If they hadn't arrested her, her lawyer would not be requesting the tape during discovery, and then their goofy, unprofessional shit would have remained a secret. These two lightweights fired themselves.
Unless you think that the PD just volunteered that tape.

ScreamingCockatooI hope the county paid back the towing and impound fees.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster.

“A [arrest] head, R[release] tail,” Wilson said.
“Okay,” Brown replied. {Then you hear the coin flip}
“This is tails, right?” Wilson asked.
“Yeah, so release?” Brown responded.
“23 (the police code for arrest),” Wilson replied. The officers decided to charge Webb with driving too fast under the conditions and reckless driving."

chongosuerteI've played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" for some potentially life-risking assignments, but I've never flipped a coin to arrest someone.
Obviously it's too easy to arrest people in their county. That's a guaranteed two hours of your life lost in mine. Maybe as long as 6 hours. For someone to get an unsecured bond and the case to be dismissed after you're subpoenaed for it three or four times, on your day off.
F that. Idiots.
Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.
Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

7 Zark 7There was a time in my later 20's when I wouldn't even date 20-something year old girls because even back then I had recognized that most of them are idiots.
Right or wrong, there's something a little unsettling about girls in their 20's policing our cities.
So, what's your name, icy? "Stuntman Mike." Stuntman Mike's your name? "You ask anybody." Hey, Warren, who is this guy? "Stuntman Mike". And who the hell is Stuntman Mike? "He's a stuntman." July 27, 2018, 09:50 AM
MikeinNCAnything over 80 was an automatic arrest in my book...no ifs ands or buts....
Flipping a coin was very unprofessional and they deserve to be fired.
But they will get hired at some other department s because “diversity”

How bout spin the badge, you won't be needing it anyway...

vinnybassPlaying with people's lives isn't a game. They went from writing a ticket to an arrest. All this for a woman speeding because she was late for work. They didn't even honor their own game. Friggin' imbeciles. They don't have the mindset for that kind of work, IMO.
I expect a certain amount of propriety from some occupations. Funeral director, health care workers, et cetera. And yes, from the police, as well. They fired themselves, indeed.

parabellum...and berating the woman- that was so professional. Just do your fucking job. Write a ticket, arrest her, whatever, but save the browbeating. Very unprofessional.

I did, but I Misunderstood the ending. Dumb thing to do on camera, and in general. In the past I have been let off with a “warning” when speeding - not sure how the officer decided to warn instead of ticket, but I was happy for however it was decided.
