I have a 2016 Expedition and had a problem this winter of ice build up in the door jambs. Right if front of the door panel and behind the front fender where the hinges are. It built up so bad that one day I couldn't open the drivers door more than 3 inches. my truck sits outside and it's not garaged so that doesn't help but that's the way it is here. Anyone else have the problem and find a fix or is it just a bad design by Ford to channel the water down through the door jambs? "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Just a guess, but water thrown up into the wheel well might be making its way past the wheel well liner where it ends up near the door. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

This builds up all the way up the length door jamb so it appears to be coming from the top down. There might be some drain holes in the cowling where the wipers sit at rest that are plugged so it's forcing it down the door jamb. Hell I don't know. Everything outside is thawing now so it's not a problem. I actually had to carry a long bladed screw driver and hammer and chisel it out every 2 days! I have not had that particular problem. I park outdoors too. Do you find parking front high or low left high or low makes a difference? Does the passenger side react the same? Here is my bitch. The washer nozzles freeze. Some engine heat thaws them out and just minutes later the bastards won’t spray, stop a few minutes off they go again. As warm as 26 degrees and they plug up, while the reservoir won’t freeze at -25. 16 F-150 ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

The drivers side is worse than passenger side and that's most likely my parking spot is not level and leans to that side. Yeah washer nozzles and wiper blades are the weak spot on any vehicle. Our Subaru has a heated windshield so when you turn the defrosters on the heating elements heat up just where the wipers sit and keeps the blades from sticking to the windshield and from forming ice on them when driving. Washer nozzles are always problems in the winter. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

This is the only vehicle I’ve ever had issues with. I drive 80,000 miles a year for >20 years and never such a pos as this. Rest of the truck is great, ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

Excellent vehicle choice. EL or standard length? I too park outside and my driveway has a very mild slope and I park with the front facing down hill. I did not have this issue. I have noticed that lots of water comes from the roof and down the windshield (presumably since there is so much surface area to catch the water. I have the EL). ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. I got the EL 4WD. The thing has been a absolute dream in every category. For a truck that big when I'm going down the freeway at 75mph I can hear a mouse fart underneath the seat. This water issue is the first issue that has come up. Just turned 20K on it. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

I am pretty active on expeditionforum.com and not seen the topic come up. Great place to join lots of knowledge and solid discussions on these rigs. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. Pull the plastic cowling cover under the wipers. Leaves get in there and clog the drains and that's what sounds like is happening.

I have an F250 and have not had that problem with mine. I did have so much snow built up on top of the truck that I had to knock the frozen snow off to open my door. NRA Life Endowment member Tri-State Gun collectors Life Member
