No, I didn't capitalize the S. Now the bastards are making computer calls with recordings in that other language. I have no idea what she was babbling about, nor do I care. Leave me alone.

Spanish? Hell, I could at least generally understand that. I've been getting a few calls in Chinese.

I actually got to speak to a live young man the other day. I hit l to speak to an agent. Then I took him to task for calling me. No Spanish or Chinese calls yet, but I’m sitting close to the phone. Better?

Sometimes I will speak to them in Italian. To date, none of them have continued the conversation, which is a good thing, as my Italian is very limited.

I handed out mini air horns to all of my employees to use in case they call our office line. I hear 4-5 blasts a day followed by giggling. Cool

My nephew has a friend that would do that but in Klingon. LOL

I've received a couple of spam calls in Chinese recently too. Recordings, not even a live person, so it's a double FU as far as I'm concerned.

Here's the other one that's pissing me off: Back in July I had a medical incident and spent a weekend in the hospital (ICU for one night then a "regular" room for 2 more). So now I'm getting robo-calls from the hospital. "Hello, this is the <hospital> billing department. Please have <me> call us at <phone number>." WTF? Hey asshole, if you want to talk to me then just call me, don't have your f**king computer do it.

The Spanish calls I can understand. The Chinese calls leave me completely baffled.

I average 8 or 10 calls per day on my personal cell phone. Maybe twice per week I get a real call, the rest are all spam or robo-calls.

Do Not Call List? What a joke.

He was a live because he repeatedly called me a “muddah fuckah”, which I thought was cool. Then I told him to go suck a dog. Hey, he was still sputtering when I hung up. No Spanish or Chinese calls yet, but I’m sitting close to the phone.

Ni hao . . .

(I get them once every week or so, although my new policy is to never answer calls from strange numbers.)

Chinese robo calls. I remember calling Oriental restaurants as a kid. You know if you lived in NYC or West Coast. I guess it is payback. What fun at ten or eleven calling the takeout number and asking if they have Itchee Balls? They caught on after awhile and made some idle threats but nothing happened. Karma thats all....

Holding down one of the number keys would probably be louder over the line.

Especially when using a pre breakup Bell System Touch-Tone, they make loud tones. (Not that I would ever do that to a telemarketer!)

Well maybe once or many times anyways.......

Seems like solicitation calls to my cell have jumped up dramatically, in spite of the fact that my cell phone is supposed to be registered on the “No-call” phone list. For a few weeks now I haven’t answered ANY calls from numbers/area codes I don’t recognize. I know some were from the NRA, others? I don’t know. They never leave a message, confirming my decision to not answer the calls.

Somewhat related. Phishing emails have gone up too.
