Apparently the war in Ukraine has caused the British to speed up the development process. It's now scheduled to be deployed five years early or 2027.

The article has a picture of a mortar round taken out by the laser, which seems to be a more impressive result than taking out a typical drone.

I wonder if one of these could be mounted on a police helicopter and used to take out an engine during pursuits?
