If this is a DVD, there is software IIRC that will extract the key from the disc.

No, only can be extracted from the registry once installed and already entered, good if you forget or lose the key.

39BCJ or 3PBCJ

?

I just had to do this myself with a customer machine and a bad sticker.

Try typing the guesses on M$‘s website, on the ISO validation/download page.

You can just write down all the possibilities and just try them all until it works, there doesn't seem to be that many...?

Yeah I have a list of possibilities I have tried and no luck. I think trying to pin down the first 4 is the key here. The last one is the hardest to see. I think the 2nd letter is a P. The 4th letter could be a C too maybe.

These are the possibilities

And this folks, is why I always write the number on the disc, with a Sharpie, once the software is successfully installed. Wink

If you ever registered the machine or OS then it’s quite possible the key is located in your Microsoft account. I know this because I’ve logged on and see my windows 10 and office keys.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
