Look for deals. I was going to buy a used car for my daughter and ended up getting a brand new VW Jetta 1.4t. It is their base model but had everything we needed. $13,755. They were blowing out the 2017's. Got the second to last one they had. Look for bargains.

Not sure if it’s relevant. I had a 2008 Passat 2.0 turbo. I had to add a quart of oil every three weeks.

Owned a Passat. Once. Not a horrible car, but I won't be owning one again.

The Infiniti M35 / M35x (awd) is a tremendous value on the used car market. I think you'll be surprised at just how far your $25K will go in one. If you're game, you can get a barely used Nissan Leaf for $10-12K! It's no Infiniti, but you can say goodbye to the gas station. Good luck!

If you really liked the infiniti, get a low mileage BMW. 3 series is a great classy dd'r. If you are a man of discriminating taste, get the nicest M3 you can afford. Brace for infrequent but costly periodic maintainance and it will be worth it. If you have no need for luxury, try a low mileage corvette or mustang. The sixth gen Camaros might be too new to pop up used on the cheap, but they are bad ass cars.

I hope your song is mechanically inclined and doesn't travel too far from home. There's a reason why an Audi is worth less than a Civic/Accord/Camry of the same vintage. Do you know if the timing belt has been done on it? It's probably close to being time for it if not done already.

I'll echo this! I'm a G37/Q50 fan and went out a few weeks ago to have a look at a couple of used ones. The dealer had an M35x there in incredible condition, and at a very nice price. It was darned tempting to pick up an older M35x over a newer Q50. God bless America.

Son's Audi will need oil check every 3-4000 miles...Turbo engines tend to "push" oil necessitating oil level checks more often. 100% Synthetic oil a must - came from the factory that way. The previous version of the A4T owners manual says oil change every 10K miles - the heat from the turbo will make the engine oil HOT. I think the interval for your son's year is 7,500 miles - stick to it and check at least 2-3 times between changes. I worked at an Audi dealer for 4 years in service, left in very late 2007. It's been 10 years, so I do not remember if the 07's 4 cylinder had a timing chain or belt [3.2 liter V6 had a timing chain] - If timing belt, this should be replaced at 100K miles - Audi engines do not have the valve clearance to avoid the piston hit if the belt goes south. Engine will be toast if the belt fails. Just some thoughts. JoeSig Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Solus Christus, Soli Deo Gloria, Sola Scriptura
