Body found partially under my wife's car
While eating breakfast this morning we hear more chit-chat on the porch (shared apartment building porch) than usual. As we go towards the door to see what's up, the doorbell rings.
"Umm, just thought you should know they found a body under your car" they say.
WTF! My wife and I head outside and see the crime scene vehicle and fire truck. They must have arrived while we were getting ready. As we look down, I see a detective looking in her car. I go down to let him know it's our vehicle, in case he wanted to unlock it.
It appears that this young man was dropped off sometime this morning. From what I heard, it was only a small window that it could've happened, and the person that called 911 said he was definitely dead. So the assumptions are that he died somewhere else and was dumped in the parking lot, and just happened to be right next to her car. Most likely rolled, and that's how he ended up partially under it.
Needless to say, we've been casually looking for a house, but we've decided to amp up our searching! Such a bad time to move right now (home prices are becoming crazy again) but I don't think my wife is willing to wait any longer, and I can't say I blame her!

Do you have the heroin epidemic raging in your neck of the woods like some other areas of the country?

Oh yeah, it's pretty bad up here. That was my first thought as well.

Just really trying to figure out the motivation in dumping him in our parking lot like that.

Wow! Quite a scary story! My main motivation for leaving the fine city of Dayton was finding a dude dead in the alley behind my house, near where my garbage cans were stored. Cops said a dope house was nearby. I began to carry my pistol to take out the garbage. To hell with that! Time to move!
Good luck!

Different thoughts were racing through my head from the title alone.

While bad, it's not as bad as my imagination ran like your wife ran over and dragged the body to your garage without knowing about it.

Good luck with the house hunting.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Yeah, sorry about that. I was the one who parked it last night, so didn't even cross my mind that way.

Convenience, probably. Addicts have better things to do than worry about pesky bodies. I can see where this would get your apprehension level up a couple of notches higher!

Sorry you have to deal with this. Happy house finding. I tell my family and friends almost daily, anything can happen anywhere. In today's world we are unfortunately not immune to anything.

They shot up in the lot (likely a dealer close by in the complex, heroin users don't make it very far with their stuff before using it) and their buddy overdosed so they pushed him on out.

That's what buds are for.

The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. Really sorry to hear about it. Bet the poor stiff is even more sorry. There is a storm of bad drugs coming through the country. Asian fentanyl mixed with whatever, pressed, and sold as 'scripts.

After finding all kinds of things in my garden, it's only a matter of time until:

911. What is your emergency.
Hello. I want the police to come out here. I want to give them a hand.
Pardon me, sir?
Yes, I want the police to come out. Probably should send a detective. I want to give them a hand.
Give them a hand with what? Is this a joke? Abuse of the Emergency System is against the law.
What do you mean, joke? I want to give them a hand. How much more clear do I have to be?
Sir, I'm advising you to stay off the line. If you call back with a similar story, I'll send the police to charge you.
What are you talking about? There is a human hand, a severed human hand in my garden. Looks fresh ...

If you don't mind answering, what city do you live in?

I live in Biddeford. The local "paper" had the biggest write up, but half of what they wore was wrong. I emailed the editor and got no where.

Gee... I wonder why they are going under? Couldn't be their top- notch reporters now, could it?

No offense, but I wouldn't have been surprised to hear you say "Sanford".
