That said, and to answer your question: Yes, those things are turning up everywhere 'round here.
Kia/Hyundai quality has gone WAY up over the past 10-15 years, to be fair. I still wouldn't buy one.
Almost word for word, this is what I would have written.

old rugged crossWe have a discontinued Kia Amanti in our family. It looks like a Mercedes knock off. Been a great car for a junker

I think they build a good solid car for the $

BeancookerSo I’ll start this off by Koreans really support their own. My wife is Korean, born and raised. All the TVs are Samsung. Fridge, oven, microwave, all Samsung. We use to have a Samsung washer and dryer.
When I bought a Hyundai Sonata, she thought I was insane. Granted, I traded in a 2017 Mercedes E63 for a Sonata. (We were moving and I didn’t have a job yet, and didn’t need a ridiculous car payment, or the issue of moving to a small town and driving a car no one would forget)
I can vouch for the fact that a Hyundai Sonata surely isn’t an E63, it is a damn nice car and it’s well built. I didn’t have a loaded car. It was pretty basic. Hyundai’s basic is well equipped by most standards. It was well built and it served me well until I got the Tacoma.
Yeah, the telluride is all over. It doesn’t change the fact it’s a fat assed ugly car. Just my two cents.
The creature comforts inside are pretty great. Surprisingly so.

Rolan_KrapsI have a Kia Sedona 2017 minivan. Upwards of 75k miles and have not had any issues. Lots of features for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

WishboneThe Telluride isn't a bad looking mini van.

r0gueJust watched the Savage Geese review on YouTube. Looks fantastic in and out and feels nice to the touch. Rides VERY soft. Handles poorly, and lackluster acceleration. Excellent interior volume with a 3rd row that is about as good as it gets in size unless you go to a full minivan.
So basically, it's seemingly PERFECT for the demographic I've noted buying them.
I think I'd go with another Odyssey first, but I will admit that Honda seems lazy to me in their treatment of the Oddy and Pilot over time. But that's Honda. Tiny changes. High quality.

It's the name of ski town in SW Colorado. No different than the Chevy Tahoe in that sense.
Thank you for that info.

BassamaticThe wife bought a Kia Optima fully loaded in 2013. She drove that thing for four years and then traded it in for a new SUV. The dealer gave her more than what Kelly Blue Book said it was worth. That was one of the better cars we have ever owned, never cost us a penny.

Mr.9mmWe test drove one before we bought our Highlander. Although it drove very nicely, the fit and finish was not up to the price point. The biggest concern for me was it took me three days to get the smell of the plastic out of my nose and to get rid of the accompanying headache from it.

TMatsThe Coloradans must be conflicted; they think they all have to drive Subarus. I honestly hadn’t noticed them. BTW, I note that the assembly plant is in Georgia.

P250UA5I see far more Hyundai Palisade around here than Telluride.
I know for a while, dealers were struggling to have any in stock. Probably a combination of demand & low supply. Even now, most Kia dealers around me only have 3-5 in stock; but it was similar when the Stinger debuted, they were tough to find for a while.

JimmyRayBobAround here (North Carolina), dealers were charging a "market adjustment" - adding $3-5,000 to the MSRP. That was a few months ago and I'm not sure what they are doing today, but that would seriously suggest they are "crazy popular" in this neck of the woods.

For a KIA? Yeah, no.

HRKDaughter has the Telluride, I've driven it, very nice, quiet, solid, rides good, it's never been back for any repairs or problems., Other Daughter has a Sorento, same thing, solid, reliable.
I don't own one, but my other Neighbor in the car industry Adessa Auctions, has a high end Sorento, he likes it, again, zero issues with fit, finish or mechanicals.
Kia consistently tops the quality and reliability charts these days.

Stingers were solid MSRP when they came out, for the 2.0 4cyl & some markup for the GT twin turbo V6 models.
Give them a bit of time & I'm sure they'll be more available & available under sticker.

slabsides45Funny this thread comes up now. My daughter and SIL were considering the Telluride very strongly. In the Memphis area, the markup was in the $3,500 (over sticker) range, unless you order it.
They went to Tupelo (yes, Elvis' Tupelo...) because they were the only place around that had a Telluride and the Hyundai Pallisade in stock. Drove the Hyundai first, then the Kia, and went back to the Hyundai dealer. Ended up buying the Hyundai for about 2K below sticker, much less than Memphis stealerships wanted.
I have to say, you get a lot for your money. The electronics on it are stellar, good leather with heated and cooled seats, double sunroof/moonroof, lane assist, overhead camera thingy, etc.... Plus a 3 year/36K maintenance plan (free), 5 year/60K mile warranty, and the local dealer doubles the 10 year/100K mile powertrain warranty at no additional cost.
I'm an American auto manufacturer fan, but I have to admit my wife's Yukon isn't as nice as this thing is, is now WAY out of warranty at 45K miles, and that the dealer bills me for the friggin' extra towel pack they open if they're changing my oil. American superiority ain't all that in the auto industry if this is any indicator.

konata88Kia and Hyundai have come a long way over the past 30 years or so.
I still wouldn't buy one unless they were at Toyota firesale pricing levels (and that's assuming similar or better features / capabilities).
In my experience, Korean products are superficially feature rich however they have fundamental flaws in design or quality.
