Do Ryobi 40V batteries ever go on sale?
This spring, I bought a Ryobi 40V brushless string trimmer, and brushelss blower kit that included one 4Ah battery and one charger. I've been waiting on a sale ever since then and so far nothing. Not even during HD's Ryobi days in June.

Do they ever put their 40V batteries on sale?

If not, are the aftermarket 40V batteries any good? I notice the 6Ah is about $70 on eBay compared to $180 for the Ryobi at HD.

I bought a (aftermarket)Craftsman 19.2 battery from ebay, 6AH and so far so good with a 5 year warranty I would say go for it! You can also check google for a Ryobi reseller like direct tools

There was another thread on aftermarket batteries somewhere.
I don't have a Ryobi but have used them for Milwaukee and Dewalt and all worked well.
I'd try the aftermarket and see how they do.
I found plenty on Amazon as well as Ebay.

I’ve had bad luck with the non-brand name Ryobi 40. I had 2 bad ones in a row. Both returned no question asked.
I just get the Ryobi 40 v 4,5 or 6 aMp hr batteries now.

I’ve never seen them go on sale. I had a trimmer and mower that used the 40v system.

You might want to try your local pawn shops.

Thanks. I decided to go with a 4Ah genuine Ryobi new in sealed package from a fellow Texan. $84 with free shipping and free returns.
