That’s all, just sharing and rubbing it in Big Grin. Going to do some off roading in the 4Runner to Ouray via Ophir Pass and soak my aching back in the hot springs.

Telluride's a really pretty place. I like it a lot better in the summer than the winter, though.

(me)

Did this a few years ago. Not for the faint hearted, but not overly difficult either. If you do it, make sure you have the right gear.

Telluride Via Ferrata

PS - Try Engineer Pass instead of Ophir for a real adventure! With care, a 4Runner should be able to do it.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

Yeah, Engineer Pass is great as well. Unfortunately most of the trails are closed due to snow still. I’ve been all over the area in previous years. Running Black Bear Pass back wards was fun!

Very nice! We’re headed to the same area in a month. It’s the official “it’s too damn hot in Texas” pilgrimage to the mountains.

They must have had a good winter. Black Bear was a blast, but I've only done it the "legal" way, toward Telluride.

This was the second time:

The San Miguel river is really high, parts of the the walking path along side it are washed out. Supposedly the snow on Ophir Pass is still so deep you have to fold your side view mirrors in to drive through the plowed area. Eek

Thank you, sir. I get that a lot..people think they’ve met me or recognize me. I’m a pretty generic looking dude.
