FlashlightboyFNC reporting the Hilary's Email contained a "Top Secret" labeled message
So fast forward for minute and delve into the, What if Zone.
Does Huma take one for the team to protect Hillary? I don't think so because by herself Huma is no one. She has nothing else going for her and if Hillary wins the presidency, she's golden. I think this is the best option for Huma and Hillary.
Hillary can't afford to throw her under the bus and must work with Huma for the best spin possible but if it comes to Hillary casting her aside like she did within 72 hours with Little Debbie, either Huma sings or Hillary cuts her a sweetheart deal with the Foundation to shut her up.
Hillary doesn't sleep well at night right now without the use of drugs.

Domestic violence is an exception. The privilege belongs to the defendant to prevent the spouse from testifying to confidential communications. The defendant/accused can waive it, but it's not up to the spouse.

The fundamental basis of the spousal privilege was to protect the “institution” of marriage. That depends in part on spouses’ being able to share any secret with each other in the confident belief that it won’t be disclosed. If we believed that we couldn’t do that, it would have a corrosive effect on marriages in general. And it’s important to understand that the privilege doesn’t (didn’t, anyway) rely on what my spouse wants; it’s what I want: To not be compromised by something I told the one person that I was supposed to be able to freely confide in.
Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate the clarification!

sdyWe are very short of time before the election. The media will try to keep the attention on how outrageous Comey's actions were.
If Huma stays in hiding, Trump and his surrogates need to keep highlighting that.
We need to fire up whatever social networks & connections we have and spread the information as far as we can.
We can't let a colossal pile of corruption elect a crook even more foul than obama.
And make no mistake, if that laptop has all the emails, it was not discovered previously because of a totally botched and incompetent FBI investigation over the last year into Clinton's emails.
Whether intentional incompetence or just plain old incompetence doesn't matter now.

I still have no idea what you guys are talking about when you say Huma will "take one for the team" or get "thrown under the bus." The FBI has the emails. If there is incriminating evidence there against Hillary, it's not as if Huma can just say, "hey, Comey, take me and do what you will, but please let Hillary go. It's my fault; I told her to do it."
I mean seriously...

jsawyer09Not sure this matters, since so much has broke since this morning (e.g., Weiner/FBI cooperation news), but interesting:

'When new emails that appeared to be related to Hillary's personal email server turned up in a computer used [her close aide] Huma Abedin and [Abedin's disgraced husband,] Anthony Weiner, Comey jumped at the excuse to reopen the investigation.
This really is something. As Para said earlier, this really does have almost a divine intervention type feel to it.
And let me add, it seems that after all there were men in the FBI with integrity ready to quit over this mishandled investigation. Quite a few of them in fact.

Yes, and that’s been addressed here several times (RTT).
But except for things like being the victim of a crime, the spousal privilege is indeed designed to protect the defendant. I can object to my wife’s testifying to something like my statement that I killed someone despite what she wants to do. If my angry wife could reveal our marriage secrets whenever she wanted, the concept of marriage confidentiality would be meaningless.
Added: The “priest/penitent” privilege isn’t observed quite as much as the spousal privilege, especially these days, but the principle is the same. If I confess a murder* to my priest and he is later compelled to testify as to what I told him, what does that do to the idea that religious confessions are confidential and between me and him and a deity? Would other people bare their souls to the extent that they’re expected to? The idea that one should be able to tell a cleric anything to obtain absolution and without its being repeated outside the confessional is a fundamental religious belief of many people.
* A statement “against self-interest” such as a confession to a crime is a common exception to the hearsay rule. The basis for the exception is that it’s reasonable to believe that people don’t lie when incriminating themselves.
An admission would be one against the witness's interest, not necessarily the defendants, which is what is sought to protect.

The difference is that it used to be a world of reporters, who understood that reporting required journalistic integrity. Now, they're no longer reporters. They're media-based advocates.

rburgOK, this has been fun. Now we need to see and hear what Wikileaks has to dump over the next week. The FBI already knows probably. But if they dump hard evidence of some other facet of the emails, it will be even more interesting.

So the original sweeping the email scandal under the rug wasn't a hatch act violation? Or was that just simple corruption?
