“Carlos Eduardo Arevalo Carranza, 24, was arrested on Monday for the murder of 59-year-old Bambi Larson, who was found dead at her home in San Jose on February 28.

San Jose Police Chief Eddie Garcia also revealed Carranza's lengthy criminal history, which began in 2013 when he was arrested crossing the border illegally in Texas and deported back to Mexico.

That was followed by ten arrests and at least three convictions for offences ranging from drug possession to battery, false imprisonment and burglary.

When he was arrested for Larson's murder, Carranza was on probation for possession of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, false imprisonment and burglary.

Garcia also revealed that ICE had applied nine times for a detainer on Carranza, a move which allows suspects to be held longer than their prison term so their immigration status can be investigated by federal officials.

All nine requests had been ignored by county officials, ICE field director Erik Bonnar said, allowing Carranza to be freed so he could offend again.

Bonnar told CBS San Francisco: 'How many more people have to be killed or injured before California lawmakers will open discussions to revise the state policy prohibiting local law enforcement agencies from working with ICE to apprehend dangerous criminal aliens?”

I am not as familiar with Federal law as I should be, but I believe this is actionable under 18 U.S. Code 242.
Which addresses the deprivation of constitutional rights under color (or custom) of law.

This is super local to me and happened in my hometown. This POS was arrested and released 6 times and ICE Had a detainer for him but Santa Clara county jail released him anyway becas you know. Sanctuary

This seems to be pretty much an everyday thing with the crimes committed by illegals.

We had one around here that was never printed in the news about 2 illegals holding up a state elected official at gun point. There were two people with the govt man and both were armed. One, a friend of mine pulled and shot one twice, killing him instantly. The other guy with my friend shot the other and wounded him, he escaped.
The story was never in the news, because it involved the state official.
The illegal that escaped was hit and killed by a car after he tried to rob a carry out an hour later, just a few miles away. When he pulled on the carryout owner, the owner pulled his gun and started shooting. The illegal fled the store and ran into the road and was hit.

Still, though it happens often, it is sickening and it needs to change.

But, but, but liberals quote study's all the time that tell us illegals commit crimes at a much lower rate than American citizens do. So how could this crime have happened? Must be a mistake.

Riddle me this. Liberals claim illegals committing 'fewer' crimes than American citizens (yes, a lie) requires no additional legislation/laws/attention (RE. illegal immigration) to address. However, if 'one' American goes off the rails and commits a shooting, a multitude of new gun laws impacting all ~300mm Americans are imperative. So, who do these elected officials 'really' represent again? Yeah.

So file charges against the "officials" who refused to let ICE do their job. Those assholes are as responsible for that woman's death as is the one who actually did it.

Until there are some prices to be paid by these assholes who insist on protecting criminals, it will not stop. And, by definition, every "illegal alien" in this country is a damned criminal!!! They are breaking out laws, and getting away with it. Only God knows why this is happening.
