January 2 – normality returns
Thanksgiving is over.
Christmas is over.
New Year’s is over.
Now 95% normal. YES!

The older I get the more I like normal.

Serious about crackers.

I'll add Halloween, which has tanked my no-sugar discipline more often than not. I'm with you for the most part that we are clear of it, but for the 7 weeks of frigid, dark, bleak hell on earth that yet faces us.

I still haven't figured what day of the week it is.
Maybe after next Monday.

The Twilight Zone of repeats and worthless tv should officially end Monday so I call that the end of it all.

It’s still not over, too early. All the people that get super hyped up for all this bullshit are still on it for a few days longer, refusing to let it go. They hold onto the bs by their fingernails. People in my ‘hood still haven’t taken down the fat bearded man lawn ornaments.

I usually add +7 days from today. January 9th or 10t, 1/2 normalcy. Then the credit card bills come in, and come due for all these idiots mid January and everyone is an asshole again. Between the CC bills coming due for all their out of control spending and them realizing they won’t have a day off at work for 6 months, it’s end of January really. That’s when traffic is dead. Brick and mortars are dead. But it’s also when the newb fat people show up at the gym for their bs resolution. They don’t come start of the year. They procrastinate for a month first, cuz football playoffs or something. End of the month or 1st of February they funnel into the gym for the 2-6 weeks they’ll stick to it. They camp, play on their phones, and it’s +30 minutes to get your workout in. So for me this shit isn’t over until March.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Me too.

I paid off my credit card end of the month just after Christmas and thankfully it wasn't much different than a normal month since I only bought a few little gifts. It's so much easier just gifting money to the kids and grandkids but my cookie jar took a hit.

The silly season.
I stock up in November so I don't have to set foot in any store except Kroger until the middle of January.
Yes, I am a proud grouch!

2025 was a bad year around here. I don't want that kind of "normal". We need to raise the bar.
