Electric razor recommendations
Hello!

Really would like to stay under $100 here. Hair on my face grows out in a wide variety of angles, and I have chubby cheeks, so I need one that can manage those facts.

Which brand & model do you recommend?

Thank you,

Jim

I've been very pleased with the Braun Series 5 fellow SF member sidss1 gifted me four years ago this month Smile

I have a moderately tough beard, much of which grows out flat to the skin. I'd given up on electrics years and years ago. But then I ran into a problem where blades were causing severe irritation just under my chin--no matter what I did.

The Braun shaves nearly as close as a blade, for me, and no irritation.

Recently got a Phillips Norelco OneBlade
Comes with 3 combs, or use bare to shave.
Happy with it so far, since I've deiced to grow it out a bit, it helps maintain a consistent length.

It replaced an older Norelco rotary razor, which only served for a mostly clean shave.

Edit: the above OneBlade is more of a trimmer than a razor. Haven't tried shaving clean with it, so can't comment on shave performance.

I hated electric razors for years and have to shave for my job daily. I bought a Braun 7 series about 4 years ago and have been using it since. It's the only electric I've used that works with my wild wiry beard and face. I'm a fan. There is one place under my jaw that I have to use the trimmer on if I don't shave every day, but other than that it's great.

Hello again,

Thank you for the tips thus far. I am leaning toward the Braun - although I’ll look at anything suggested.

Thanks again,

Jim

There was a very big thread here on this very subject a short time back. Maybe you might check it out??

I've used Panasonic Wet/Dry electrics for years. Currently have the 5 blade one you can get at Best Buy, and it works great. I didn't get the more expensive model with the cleaning tank because they already clean easily - just rinse, put some liquid soap on the foil and run it.

Also have a 2xAA Travel Wet/Dry that works surprisingly well and can get through a 3 week trip on one set of batteries. And the 2xAAA Wet/Dry clippers.

Braun. My last one lasted 15 years, and new one is amazing

Braun. Per an earlier post above, there was a lengthy discussion on electric shavers. Here is a consumer reports test I placed in that prior post.
