I wish H-D made more power - 67hp at the wheels just isn't enough!
Harley makes a very "Pretty" bike.............
Yep, but I like the sound more than the looks....

And I like a bike that does not hold up traffic.

I love the look of the Breakout, but the new 2018 has such a small tank.
I also love the new Triumph Bobber Black, but it suffers from the exact same problem! So much for getting a "cool" bike. Guess I'll have to settle for a KTM 1290 Super Duke R.....
Yep there were days when the HD couldn't get out of it's own way, that's why the old Mikuni PAT kits, SNS Super E carbs, Woods or Andrews cams all the hop up stuff was needed to get an 800 pound motorcycle moving.
However they have come a long way, if you haven't ridden one of the new Rushmore line bikes with the Milwaukee 8 (thats 4 valves per cylinder) bikes you should take one for a spin.
And some of the bikes come with a "GASP" radiator! LOL Mine has the water cooled Twin cam 110.
They now come in 107, 114 and 117 CUI from the factory, albiet tuned to manage noise and epa regulations it's still got that potato potato sound. Its smoother and more powerful the new 107 will run with the older 110 twin cams easily.
Step into the hot rod department and you can really power up the new 4 valve engine right from the dealer or with aftermarket parts.
120 to 130 HP/tq isn't hard to do with the new engine.
Heres a nice write up with factoids, specifications, and even cool pictures of
engines, internals, gears, cut away bits. If you are an engineer it's your kinda porn...
Link Some independent testing shows a factory un-tuned stock exhaust and air box 117 cvo put out 93.75 HP and 112.51 TQ. at the rear wheel, I know for you crotch rocket boys that's not much, but it's more than HD normally puts out, and there's room for more.
A bone stock 2018 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special powered by a 107 cubic-inch Milwaukee-Eight produced 77.34 horsepower and 101.46 pound-feet of torque.
Again HD isn't about HP its about TQ, you want torque on a big bike. HP is just a mathematical equation converting tq over work into a measurment of power that folks from the 1700's understood, since most used horses for power..
An air filter, a set of slip ons and that 77 HP will jump into the upper 80's easy. THats the cheapest way you can improve your bromance arguments at the A&W over who's slinging the biggest johnson around....

sandman76My 2016 FLHXS 103 cu in with aftermarket air cleaner Cobra headers and mufflers with Vance and Hines FP3 tuner has all the power that I need. It flies compared to my 88 cu in FLSTF. Which I always thought ran pretty strong.
