Jimbo54He's starting off with birdie, birdie. He's making up for his poor showing at the Open last week. I hope he keeps it up.

They all know that even if they don't win on the day, they will get their share of wins. More finishes like today will only maintain the game's popularity and increase the purses.

I liked the spontaneous thumbs up from Berger immediately after Spieth holed the bunker shot.

It was some good golf today but you can't be serious in comparing it to Tiger Wood in his prime.
Maybe Speith will get there some day as he is on a good path but still a LONG way away from Tiger's accomplishments.
So yeah I do miss him.

jigray3Spieth was incredibly lucky in the final round. Several shots that should have ended up in the water instead got caught up in the rough just short of the hazard. His putting completely and painfully deserted him on the way in, and then he yanks one into the trees left in the playoff that bounces back into the middle of the fairway? Speith's game was in tatters by the end, and he was obviously completely mentally frazzled. Meanwhile Berger made up 5 shots and was in complete command. I admire Jordan Speith, in large measure for his humility, but when he spoke about the luck involved in holing that 20 yard semi blind shot from the bunker, he was just being honest.

I'm referring to his attitude and personality. He acted like an ass toward the fans, cussed when he made a bad shot and generally acted like a spoiled child. Don't forget that the networks had to delay broadcasts of his tee shots because of the cussing issue.
Hell yes he was a great golfer in his prime, no question about that, but there are to many other golfers to admire for me to miss him.
Jim
