It's a Dutch New Year's Eve for us. My wife made a Dutch dish called "huzarensla." Americans would probably find it odd :P.

But this I know Americans will like, because our friends and neighbours do:

Those are called "oliebollen." (Transliterated: "oil balls.") They're essentially a kind of doughnut, if you will. We snack on those throughout the evening.

Very fattening Big Grin

Very tasty!

My mom use to make something like that, she would lightly dust them with powdered sugar and cinnamon.

Wow, I have not though about them in years.

Baked potato, baked brussels spouts and stewed ground hog (woodchuck). I'd put up a photo but we eat it all. Finger licking good. Chris

I'm on call thru Tuesday, so I made a big pot of spaghetti. I hope I don't get sick of eating spaghetti, I mean there really is a lot.

Baby back ribs went on the BGE about 30 minutes ago. It was 35F when I fired up the BGE at noon.

About 5:45 there should be baby backs, sweet n sour slaw, and smoked potatoes at the TatorTodd compound.

Damn that looks good.

We had a Japanese restaurant nearby that I frequented about twice a month. Owned by a Japanese lady. Unfortunately she sold the business a couple of years ago and went back to Japan.

My butt came out awesom. Sous Vide for about twelve hours. Smoked for three hours or so. Then, I threw it in crock pot for a few more hours with some apple juice, vinegar, and BBQ sauce.
