vthokyWho's your Marvin K. Mooney? (A thread for some fun)
The subject is a reference to the 1972 Dr. Seuss book,
Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now!.
If you're not familiar with it then a) that's a shame

, and b) here's the summary, via Wikipedia:
quote:
Marvin K. Mooney, a young dog boy wearing purple pajamas standing in the middle of a rug, is asked to "go" by an unseen individual because "the time has come" for him. The individual, who is depicted with a large arm and pointing finger and is also the narrator, tells him to "go".
The narrator suggests wacky and bizarre ways for Marvin to leave (even though the narrator has no preference for the method), but all suggestions conclude with the narrator repeating the directive. After all the suggestions are listed, the individual points their finger very close at Marvin to firmly confirm that they order him to leave the room. Marvin finally complies, choosing to exit on foot. The individual waves goodbye to him.
I figure we've all got someone whom we wish would "please go now." Somebody at work, somebody on TV, maybe even somebody in the family. So with pure levity in mind I'll ask: who's your Marvin K. Mooney?
For me, and because the TV is on as I write this, it's Tom Brady. "Thomas P Brady, will you please go now!"
Good grief, man. You've retired and come back and retired again, and now you've got your pretty-boy face all over Fox Sports. Take your bazillions, find a nice beach (in some other country!), and go the heck away, man!

flesheatingvirusHad a young dude at work who lied his ass of on his resumé. He was completely useless. Even after evidence of this fraud, management didn’t have the balls to can him. He finally quit after a year, maybe because I wasn’t exactly going out of my way to accommodate his incompetence.
