Tundra/F150 shopping continues. Do Platinum Tundras have Air Ride like the Sequoia (pg 3)

I’ll try to find one with the 3.55s or 3.73 but I’d guess 90% I am seeing are the 3.31s.

As for the locker she will see a bit of off-roading which is why I am specifically looking for the locker.

What I suspect is that the 10 speed has a faster (smaller numeric) high gear as well. Multiply the top trans ratio by the rear gear and you'll see the actual difference when you compare the 6 speed/3.55 to the 10 speed/3.31. I'll do some digging and get back to you.

The 6 speed top gear is 0.69. Running that through a 3.55 rear works out to 2.45 overall. The 10 speed top gear is 0.63. With a 3.31 rear the final drive ratio is 2.08 - about a 15% difference.
Going up to a 3.73 rear puts the final gear ratio at 2.35. If I had to pick one, I would give up a little fuel economy for the low end acceleration and buy a 3.73.

Anyone know if the Platinum Tundras have an air ride system like the Sequoia??

The suspension will he swapped and don’t feel like messing with that.
I have seen nothing mention it but in my research also none of the modifications have been done on a platinum.

Someone should be able to give you a better answer, but I think the answer is no.

The Toyo site allows you to compare specs for a platinum version of tundra vs sequoia. It is abbreviated but does disclose “N/A” for the tundra re driver-selectable suspension versus “standard” for the sequoia. As to whether that encompasses both the height adjustment and comfort adjustment, I’m not sure.

Also, the tundra is still using a leaf spring system in the rear vs a pneumatic cylinder on the platinum sequoia, which I assume facilitates it’s adjustability.

BTW, looking at each vehicle’s detailed specs is more informative than using the “Compare” tool which is less detailed.
