We were sitting in the living room when we heard rumbling and felt vibration. The Sheriff sent out a message shortly after.

Well, at least we know where the lost spy satellite went. It burned up over Detroit. Big Grin

Definitely saw and felt it.

I thought sometime had shined a light at the front of the house, then the boom rattled the walls. I opened the front door and could still hear the rumble.

NASA just called and started asking me if I now anything about deep core drilling. Should I be concerned?

Local Media just reported that the USGA has reported that the shock wave registered as a 2.0 earthquake on their instruments.

I remember standing in the movie theater on Keflavik NAS in 1972 in the winter, black as coal night, and a very bright flash like lighting and an almost instant "Ba-BOOM!", that shook the building.

We all thought is was lightning, but most odd as in almost three years, I never encountered lighting or thunder in Iceland.

Many years later (as the Internet, security and then cell phone and dash cameras became prolific) I believe it was a bolide that came in above Kef.

I remember it like it was today.

I saw the side of the next-door-neighbour's house to the east light up. Looked kind of, but not quite, like lightning. "WTH was that?!?!" Wife saw the entire back yard light up. (Snow-covered.) Looked out the windows in all directions. Opened the doorwall and scanned around with a flashlight. Opened the front door and did the same--just in time to hear this big long rumble that sounded almost, but not quite, like thunder. "Thundersnow?" Looked at the radar. Nothing.

Heard this morning it was believed to have come to earth somewhere ±28 miles ESE of us, as the crow flies.
