Yes. We had turkey, and I am totally craving a good ribeye, but I’m pretty much always craving a good ribeye, so that doesn’t mean much. Wink

I can eat turkey, but wouldn't care if I never had it again. The wife likes it, so we will a breast later. The good part is the stuffing. We had a standing rib for T-day, still have maybe half of it left. The red side of med rare, just all kinds of good! Our kid is coming down day after Christmas, there will be a smoked lamb roast, probably a pork butt, who knows what else. He can stay longer this time. Retired from the Army as a SGM w/30 in May, so he doesn't have to hurry back to work anymore. Life is good.

Breakfasts have been my only departure from turkey since Thursday. The ham on the homemade Egg McMuffin was more delicious than normal, and this morning's homemade pork breakfast sausage was glorious.

It'll be quite a while before I'm eating turkey again.

yes - after 3 days of turkey/turkey left overs and one day of chicken (mom decided to mix it up and do chicken) I was craving a burger last night. Unfortunately no one in the house wanted one. I'll have to get one tonight.

My sister showed up Saturday with some honkin' Prime ribeyes that went on the grill for dinner. Craving satiated.

I like turkey (and chicken), but I almost never crave turkey or chicken. Once in a while I get a taste for fried chicken, but it is the only poultry I ever really get hungry for.

But turkey doesn't make me crave beef, either. I just prefer beef and pork over poultry.

I always like beef, but turkey is one of my all-time favorites (next to chicken), so I pretty much never get tired of it!

I love a good brined smoked or roasted turkey. Love turkey sandwiches, and frankly prefer a turkey sandwich to roast beef. A turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce is a delicacy! All the fixins, corn bread dressing (don’t ever put bread in your turkey!), sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, etc., compliment the star of the meal. It doesn’t need to be a pretty Martha Stewart bird (I prefer to snatch-cock and smoke it), but it should never be dry (that’s just improperly cooked in my opinion). Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, just family, food, no presents. I can seriously get behind adding bacon to the leftover sandwiches, but it really isn’t needed if the turkey has been done correctly.

I believe turkey is easy to cook well, but it does require a bit of technique and watching your temps, it is not as forgiving as something with a higher fat content, much like pork tenderloin isn’t as forgiving as a full pork loin generally is. Brine it, spatchcock it, and roast or smoke it with a good thermometer and it is incredibly delicious. I think I’ll go purchase a couple cheap ones to freeze for later this year!
