Well, our Secretary of Education thinks he knows it.

Now boys and girls, this is the Secretary of Education, but he's ignorant as shit and has a staff that can't be bothered to verify a quote. Enjoy:

What's the theory about being so stupid, you don't know that you're actually stupid?

This idiot is so wrong, he's actually RIGHT!

Meanwhile in Oregon.

EDUCATION
Oregon again says students don’t need to prove mastery of reading, writing or math to graduate, citing harm to students of color.

Participation diploma, except the students don't have to participate.

Reminds me of this statement, I'm unable to give credit to the author.

When you're dead, you don't know you're dead. The pain is only felt by others. The same thing happens when you're stupid.

Not only does Oregon pass out high school diplomas to those who know nothing and have been glued to their phones in class surfing the internet. Oregon now permits law school graduates to avoid studying for and passing a bar exam to prove a minimal level of general knowledge of the law. Instead a law graduate can work for a lawyer and glean knowledge of some aspects of law. You get one guess why the removed the mandatory bar exam. It's a race toward incompetence under the DEI gibberish.

So, at least according to this article, its not quite that simple - still have to graduate law school, and then complete 675 hours of legal work, under supervision - that legal work is then graded, instead of the Bar exam...

In some ways, it's similar to the pre WWII ways of becoming a lawyer - which was an apprenticeship, then the Bar, once the lawyer said you were ready.

Frankly, for lots of legal work, a lower standard would be appropriate. Not for corporate finance, patent law, tax, etc, but for the basics, it would make sense/probably be an improvement over people trying to do their own work/using "kits".

Might to come up with a different term for lesser experts, though. (Barristers?). Something which makes it clear that they're only competent in limited areas.

It would be a judgment call, on whether access to a lower-tier of legal expertise would be more beneficial than only having a higher tier of expert review cases. (Similar to how RNs and NPs take the load off Drs.)

How the fuck can you be so stupid as that? But that helps explain why the students are failing.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Yep, keep people dumb, uneducated and have the media tell them what to think. Makes the masses easier to control. In my opinion, it’s okay to be dumb. Being dumb doesn’t mean you are useless or dangerous. Being dumb and thinking you are smart is where you become dangerous. Some (most?) people think they’re a chess master when in fact they are just playing tic tac toe.

Yep, he was sincere.
Yep, the meaning he gave the phrase was the exact opposite of Reagan's intent.

But it's nothing unusual for Democrat Marxists to take plain language and give it the exact opposite meaning. They are pretty good at making people believe they care, while leading the country down the path of destruction.
Affordable Care Act
Inflation Reduction Act

Some, like this man, don't have bad intentions. They are just ignorant or misguided.

Which reminds me of another Reaganism:

'The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.'

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
