ClivefromtheMedHuge, life-changing development for me (positive)
I decided to share this momentous event with you all as, over the years I've been lurking, I have developed a great deal of respect for many members (Was registered here as Cliveb).
My missus and I are childless (bad choice of focusing too much on our careers when we were younger and fertile..) but find ourselves in a reasonable situation financially - so 2 years ago we decided to adopt a child. Over here in Malta, there are simply no children up for adoption, so we plumped for India, from where most adopted kids in Malta come.
The paperwork is long, with various psych tests and evaluations, and India is not exactly Germany when it comes to efficient government....But 3 days ago, we were offered a match - a 3 year old little chap, who was left outside the orphanage gates a few days after his birth.
We showed all med reports and vids etc to local pediatricians and they feel that he's physically and emotionally well - so we told the Indian adoptive authorities that we'd accept him.
Now we'll have to wait for the legal process to be concluded in India. Usually takes 4 months, but with their covid issues, it will probably be more like 6 - whatever it takes, we'll wait and in due course, will be blessed with a son and heir.
Somewhat apprehensive, but looking forward to what will probably be the most important times of our lives.

IntrepidTravelerI've had the privilege to know several adoptive parents. They are saints. I'm sure you will be too. Congratulations!

PCWyomingWonderful for you.
My parents had two biological boys (my older brother and I), then decided to adopt two boys (no relation to each other).
We were all treated the same.
My oldest daughter also adopted two children.
