My son will be commissioning into the Army May 11th and graduating college May 12th. Last month, he told me he planned to propose in April so I asked about his plans for a ring. My immediate thought was of David. I got the two of them in contact. David took great care of Jake and he proposed last Thursday. Jake and emily selected and reserved a venue and set the date this past weekend. The best part for me is that Jake asked me to put on my beret one last time and give him his forst NCO salute. Jake (our youngest), Emily, and our middle daughter. Jake and Emily are extremely happy with the ring.

He asked you to give him his first salute? That's cold. Congratulations to everyone. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
