This happened at Shaquille O’Neal’s grand opening in Hartland Michigan on the eastern side of the county.

The Livingston Daily reports from the liberal point of view. They kind of forgot that the guy was making threatening remarks and attempted to pull a BB gun per other reports from his backpack.

There is at least one YouTube video of the incident.

It’s more than that, it’s just the degeneration of society in general.

More and more every day I want to move north and hide from the idiots or at least put more distance between them and myself.

Northern Michigan if you avoid Traverse City and Mackinaw is a great place to hide. I suspect the UP would good as well.

Except Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, opening day of gun deer season, and maybe snowmobile season.

The former is most apropos, albeit they will chase anyone or anything to get a shot to post, people live to get something to post online, shouldn't be surprised though, remember the folks padding posting numbers on SF in the new member section, human nature. Smart Phones have just made it easier than having to carry a camera.

O'Neal is a good guy, down to earth, smart, made tons of money off the court, always good to those in need and especially kids.

Sounds like there was a family of three that started the mess with local leo's and lost that battle, now sitting in a nice cell...

12131, nope, not that far. Don’t want to deal with Fidel Jr., Gretchen is bad enough. North of Bay City, west as far as Clare, north to about Atlanta and east to the Lake Huron shoreline.

HRK, yep, they have now become “your tax dollars at work”

Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Suspects in Deputy Assault

Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Suspects in Deputy Assault Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Suspects in Deputy Assault Livingston Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Suspects in Deputy Assault
Nik Rajkovic / news@whmi.com

The Livingston County Sheriff's Office releases new details in last week's assault of a deputy outside the Big Chicken restaurant in Hartland.

In a press release, 21-year-old William Jaymani Dmichael Prieto faces 3 counts of Resisting and Obstructing an Officer, 1 count carrying a concealed weapon, and 1 count Attempt Strangulation.

Forty-eight-year-old Holly Renee Strong is charged with Attempt disarm a police officer, and 3 counts of Resisting and Obstructing an Officer.

21-year-old Abigail Selah Hope Strong faces 3 counts of Resisting and Obstructing an Officer.

According to an earlier release, all three are charged with assaulting a deputy working crowd control for NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal’s visit to the Big Chicken restaurant in Hartland Friday.

According to the Sheriff’s department, a 21-year-old Howell man “began being confrontational toward a deputy. The deputy de-escalated the situation and continued with scene security. After Mr. O'Neal had arrived and was in the restaurant a bystander alerted Deputies that this same individual was making assaultive remarks about the deputies and was digging into a backpack. The bystander then alluded to the fact they believed he had a weapon in the bag.”

A deputy attempted to contact the 21-year-old male who took a swing at the deputy. The deputy drew his taser and at that time a 48-year-old Brighton woman who was with the 21-year-old male attempted to disarm the deputy and was joined by her 21-year-old daughter in obstructing the deputy from taking the 21-year-old male into custody for the attempted assault on an officer.

“Two other deputies on scene went to the aid of the first deputy and attempted to move the two females out of the way and take the male subject into custody. When the deputy moved the two females out of the way they fell to the ground. Seeing this the male suspect attacked the deputy from behind attempting to put him in a headlock/chokehold. The other two deputies fired Taser's, but they had no effect. The three deputies were able to wrestle the male subject into handcuffs and secure him. The two females were advised that they were under arrest and continued to resist and attempt to flee but were also taken into custody.”

All three were lodged at the Livingston County Jail on multiple felonies. The deputy who was assaulted only sustained minor injuries. The event continued without further incident.

So, Tasers are very effective, then?
Seems like an old-fashioned nightstick would do the job, at least for the male.

BTW: This is why being famous is not all it's cracked up to be. Not that I have personal experience.

Tasers can be extremely effective, in ideal circumstances.

Unfortunately, circumstances aren't always ideal.

They're a good option, but far from a magic wand.

In one of the videos it appeared that the guy got a sammich, albeit a knuckle sammich from one of the Deputies.

I saved a cell phone camera video on my iPad from the incident that was posted in a local FB group. Now I’ve gotta find it and post it.

Could not agree more. The degeneration is the phone + social media IMO. Far too many people are programmed by both. It was bad enough when it was just commercial television (the ads) but now you have that same old ad programming bs and this on top. It’s a nasty thing and it’s here to stay.

And again, agree with the 2nd portion 100% as well. I’ve already bought land and it’s away from most everyone. I’ve had enough, seen enough, that I’m heading deep rural and everyone can have this shit. Even our state Ag Commissioner has said we’re running out of water. A big part of that is all these fuckers moving here. I cannot wait to leave TX. If I had the $ I needed to make the transition I’d already be gone.

Shame for Shaq. I respect the man. He’s going about his business and shit like this happens. Dipshits, but they are everywhere now.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

Part of the blame falls upon the back of the franchise holder. He was told it was not to be a announced event but he posted it on his FB page in the middle of the week. Add to it Shaquille arriving later that was publicized, some of the attendees got restless.

Combine that with a couple of other high school events that the LCSO had to cover at the same time. Hartland like much of the outlying areas of the county does not have a police department so they rely on the SO for coverage.
