Yup. That's what gets me about these morons who think they're running "clean" because they have a Prius or Chevy Bolt. Do they NOT know how electricity is generated/created?? There's a plant SOMEWHERE burning coal or producing nuclear power that provides juice to that plug.

Are people really that stupid? I had thought everyone had a basic system level understanding, but maybe not.

Way back in one of the "meme" threads, there was a .gif of someone putting a "powered by coal" on a Tesla charging station.

People don't care about BEING 'green,' they care about APPEARING 'green.'

We all know that producing a Prius is a dirty process (especially the batteries; both in manufacturing and then disposing of them), but people still drive their 'electric' cars (powered by coal, nuclear, or petro, for the most part) and smugly look down on the rest of us for 'not saving the planet.'

Greta is a symptom of this charade. She 'sailed across the Atlantic to avoid using fossile fuels,' but we all know it was a hoax. In that, the crew had to be flown over to sail it back. There are pictures of her on that boat with a 'one-use-only' water bottle in the background (when they preach against such 'waste').

These 'climate warriors' jet across the world, accomplish nothing, and pat each other on the backs for 'saving the planet,' when in truth, the planet would have been MUCH better off if they had all stayed at home and tele-conferenced in.

It reminds me of that bozo from years ago during Operation Iraqi Freedom, when all the libtards were crusading against 'war for oil' - he said "I don't use fossile fuels; I take the bus" (at a time when few, if ANY, cities used electric busses).

Isiah 44:
9 Idol-makers are all as nothing; their playthings do no good.
Their promoters neither see nor know anything, so they ought to be ashamed.

10 Who would form a god or cast an idol that does no good?

11 All its worshippers will be ashamed, and its artisans, who are only human.
They will all gather and stand, tremble and be ashamed together.

12 A blacksmith with his tools works it over coals,
and shapes it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm.
He even becomes hungry and weak.
If he didn’t drink water, he’d pass out.

13 A carpenter stretches out a string, marks it out with a stylus,
fashions it with carving tools, and marks it with a compass.
He makes it into a human form, like a splendid human,
to live in a temple.

14 He cuts down cedars for himself, or chooses a cypress[c] or oak,
selecting from all the trees of the forest. He plants a pine,[d] and the rain makes it grow.

15 It becomes suitable to burn for humans, so he takes some of the wood and warms himself.
He kindles fire and bakes bread. He fashions a god and worships it; he makes an idol and bows down to it.

16 Half of it he burns in the fire; on that half he roasts and eats meat, and he is satisfied.
He warms himself and says, “Ah, I’m warm, watching the fire!”

17 And the rest of it he makes into a god, into his idol,
and he bows down, worships, and prays to it, saying, “Save me, for you are my god!”

18 They don’t know or comprehend, for their eyes can’t see and their minds can’t comprehend.

19 He doesn’t think, and has no knowledge or understanding to think:
Half of it I burned in the fire, and I baked bread on its coals, and roasted meat and ate.
Should I make the rest into something detestable? Should I bow down to a block of wood?

20 He’s feeding on ashes; his deluded mind has led him astray.
He can’t save himself and say, “Isn’t this thing in my hand a lie?”

Sums up the attitudes of all the Euros who crow about being Green and how their world is Green: Out of Sight, Out of Mind. Germany gets rids of nuclear power and coal, shows only pictures of wind and wave generated energy. Meanwhile, buying up lots and lots of natural gas from Russia. Norway, powered by oil yet, has the highest prices in the world.
Look at all the container terminals, petroleum ports and ship building activities around Europe, they're located far, far away from the praying eyes of the green elites. The Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach is so far away from the scolds in Santa Monica and Manhattan Beach, it's out of sight, out of mind.

I'd never heard of her until all the furor erupted. I wish that I had not heard of her. (More correctly, I wish she would go away.)

Yes. They are.

Like, we know the reason.. like, why...

A "new" study from the Pew Research Center shows that over two thirds of U.S. adults (68%) get their news on social media, even if rarely. Out of that population, just under half say that they get their news from Facebook.

Her name was bubbling around Europe several months in advance of her world-wide coming out. At first I thought really? People are buying this? Turns out she's a commodity, Thunberg can thank the free-market system for her success. Created and packaged carefully not just to sell but to be immune to criticism. Was it Lenin who said the capitalists will sell us the rope we hang them with?

Euro-Weenie: Typically a resident of continental Western Europe. Characteristics are smugness, arrogance, and cowardice. Given to excessive envy and whining about the U.S.A. while forgetting their own sordid history. See ingratitude and hypocrisy. (as defined in “Slang Define”)

euroweenie: A European, or American who wishes he/she were European, with an ultra-liberal view of the world, who believes that the United States should roll over like a bunch of pussies and become testicle-less Socialist wimps like they are. (as defined in “Urban Dictionary”).

Pretty much fits what she is.

This. Buddy of mine years ago got fed-up with all of the reserved parking spots for "Green" vehicles at his work. He orders a "Green" car sticker and puts it on his F-250. Few days later he gets a call from his boss and asks him why he's parking in the "Green" vehicle reserved spots.

My buddy marches him out to the parking lot and points at his "Green" sticker on the tailgate. His boss said "Oh, sorry for the confusion. You have a "Green" vehicle."
