A buddy of mine had the same issue a few years ago. He went the same route. All went smoothly. Glad you got it sorted out in time! ____________________________ Yes, Para does appreciate humor.

btanchors, Happy wife, happy life right? Like I said not cheap but unbelievably efficient and as your wife found, they walk you thru EVERY step to assure when they get the envelope...its GTG. Expect timely email updates too. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet. I need mine for work, but usually dont have enough days off to play the “go down to the Passport Office” game. Plus what’s your time worth? Enjoy your trip! -------------------------------------- "There are things we know. There are things we dont know. Especially since you have no choice but to send in your old passport in order to renew, so you're grounded until you get the new one whether or not your old is expired or not. All, To close out this thread - my wife received her new passport Wednesday. She first discovered her passport was expiring Friday, and Wednesday, received the new one, all the way in Spokane. Many thanks to everyone, and especially to entropy, as we used his recommendation, rushmypassport.com. It is costly, but went like clockwork with no surprises. Prior to this thread, I had no idea these services even existed. Sigforum never ceases to amaze me...

Last year a colleague had to do that same thing. She went directly to the US DoS in Foggy Bottom, and had a new passport in a single day. It's not easy to find, but there is an emergency application on the State Department's website. Or, you could use CBIT passport expeditors. www.cibt.com 800-929-2428. I used them for my Indian and Brazilian visas, they were great.

We did renewal thru the Philly office and it came back in - wow! - eight days. We used the less than 4-6 weeks expedited option on this site, cost about $189. We sent it via USPS priority w/tracking, that cost us about $24. https://travel.state.gov/conte...-passport/hurry.html I am not knocking any of the other services, but the State Dept system worked for us.
