I purchased two of the Hoppes Silicone cloths for my firearms. They leave a lot of cloth fibers behind. I like that they put a nice coating on the parts, but I guess my question to the forum is do you then wipe the firearms down again with a micro cloth? I mean it leaves at LOT of fibers behind. Up to this point I have used Barricade wipes or CLP to put a coating on the outside parts. Living the Dream

Maybe a bad lot? I have never had them leave fibers behind. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

THIS, I've never bought the Hoppe's silicone gun wiping cloths, but I have bought plenty of others and none of them have left any fibers behind. I think using a microfiber after, would wipe off most of the protectant you just put on.

Maybe because the cloth is made from flannel? I'll wipe them down with a micro towel after until I replace them. Living the Dream

I buy only the TOP GUN SUPPLY silicone cloths. They're the largest I've found and the price is better than most. But even those begin to leave fibers after so many uses. You could use an old t-shirt sprayed liberally with silicone spray.
