I’m not impressed. The guy’s a dumbass. That is so unsafe in so many ways I don’t even know where to begin.

If the trailer was empty there’s really not that much weight there.

The rest of what he did was dangerous. May be ok to drag around a parking lot, but not suitable for the roadway.

Yep, and he undoubted shortened the life of the motor, tranny, and/or drivetrain significantly. Just stupid.

Yes, that is a bit much. I don’t usually see ‘absolutes’ with towing, condition & contex factor in heavily.

Some of those include, experience, length of tow, conditions/terrain, vehicle setup, driving style, etc... The list goes on.

5 days ago I drove to S FL & back, just after the snow around S IL. I saw an assortment of vehicles off the road. A few notables were travel trailers hooked to their tow vehicles, with various levels of damage.

When I went by the road itself was fine. I was thinking maybe those tow-ers should of waited a day or stayed in a hotel a night or two? There were also some semi-trucks off the road. The tow recovery trucks made some $$ with recoveries.

Just can’t fix it. You see the slop in the pin hole?

I moved a 12'x75' single wide house trailer with my 1966 F250 Camper Special out of a yard and across town and about 5 miles for my Brother in Law years ago. No trouble at all!

The seller of the trailer told me there was no way my pickup would even move it from the spot where it sat. His jaw hit the ground when I dropped ole Blue in granny low and pulled it out of there without even breaking a sweat.

I contacted the local PD before hand to see if they had a problem with it, or if I needed a permit or something. No to both. They just said do it early on Sunday morning when traffic is light and run escort and trail vehicles. Ah the good ole days in a mostly rural county. My how times have changed... guess they would frown on that now. Big Grin

Funny you posted this as it was just a couple days ago.... that I saw the exact setup only with a shorter trailer.
Wish I had time to grab a pic...

There is another photo where the truck is pulling it via a fifth wheel mount on the truck.

The story is that it's a trailer manufacturer's shuttle truck, used to move them from lot to lot. Still impressive to see at first glance.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

That trailer only weighs about 15,000 lbs.

The pins are very strong, too. They are what farmers use to pull HUGE implements.

I think the weakest point is the receiver, but they may have improved on the factory hitch.

Not really because:

A tandem axle bumper pull trailer with a big skidsteer or small excavator could weigh the same.

Granted this truck is a lot more capable, similar concept.

Why do I think the phrase "Hold my beer, eh!" came up in the planning conversation.
