I think myself that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious. In honor of my Uncle Jack. USMC Korean War Veteran, one of the "Chosin Few", who called me yesterday to ask when we were gonna go to the range again. I took care of that with him this AM. At 92, he isn't comfortable with the .45 or the Springfield any more, but he can handle a 9mm just fine.

Slept under the stars nearly as much as aboard ship. Good times.

A lot of great pictures. I thought I would show one slightly different. What can be more small town Americana than kids playing baseball in a field backing up to the local National Guard Armory?

The back story is that my son is leading off from third base and my youngest daughter is at the plate. They go to a small charter school that doesn’t have enough boys interested in baseball let alone girls in fast pitch softball so they decided on a boys team and the coaches have recruited boys and girls. They aren’t world beaters but they do have fun. This is the team playing in a local Colt league this summer.
