Karoline Leavitt, the new WH Press Secretary just issued a statement from President Trump, stating that all the drones in NJ were "authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons. Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational and individuals who enjoy flying drones. In time, it got worse due to curiosity. This was not the enemy."

That’s what I was thinking. So either that was total b.s. or there was no communication with local law enforcement. Probably both.

I am going to wager, the FAA was working with various agencies and contractors in efforts to strengthen/harden airport facilities, and airpace(s).

Detection, possibly countermeasures and targeting and acquisition for starters.
