CAR-T (gene therapy) was discussed. Might be an option. Also a slim possibility that a specialist could remove the tumor (met with him down at IU last year), although it’s a very risky surgery.

As is the case with high-grade blood cancers, tumor removal may not necessarily remove the other dormant cancer cells, but the stem cell transplant might help to resolve that.

Overall, prognosis for individuals with refractory (intractable) tumor(s) is poor.

I have a PET scan this Wednesday. Feeling a little nervous, as I’ve had some new back and abdominal pain.

Latest: going to see the docs at Rush this Thursday. The plan is to do more, stronger chemo, possibly in-patient, 2-4 days at a time, then 2-3 weeks recup at home. After 4-5 months, recheck PET scan, and then another stem cell transplant.
