Killed a 22 footer to get the perfect 17 foot tree. This is the first time the wife and I are asking for help to set it up as we both are getting older. Looks to be a 6:30 set up. I will try to post a pic of the beauty when my wife is done with it, or see if someone here can do it for me.

Yep, it's that time of year! Just got back from a walk and passing through the neighborhood, quite a few people were out, putting up Christmas lights and inflatable figures.

Enjoy! My first year in Dallas I had a 13' tree in my living room (vault ceiling). Loved it.

I do an artificial tree now, and by a long-term family tradition it goes up on my birthday (21 Dec) and stays up until Epiphany (6 Jan). I do put up my outdoor lights as soon after Thanksgiving as my Handyman can make time--at my age I have to have help. Last year:

FWIW, the line of blue lights around the garage door is there all year--my tribute to our folks in Blue, the police.

Got the tree up in the front room, smaller one in the back room.

Haven't gotten the outside done yet, got the grass cut and hedges trimmed. Will work on the outside lights this week.

Wow you guys sure are fancy!

My scrawny almost bare tree is decorated with fishing bobbers, shotgun shells and brass ammo, couple church keys, and may or may not have a beer can hanging from it.

We have a 9-foot plus artificial tree that goes in the high-ceilinged great room and my wife has several small ones (up to 6-feet) that she puts around the house. That makes way too many boxes of ornaments to store, but she loves them.

My wife and I stopped at a Waffle House while on a trip a few years ago. She was wearing her Charlie Brown t-shirt with that tree when one of the WH employees brought in that same tree to decorate for Christmas. We got a picture of Mrs. ST with the little tree.

There's a rumor that there is another one upstairs, but I haven't ventured up there to check it out Smile
