I broke my salad spinner. :(
I was preparing lunches for the week and the plunger on my salad spinner snapped. It’s all loose and floppy and won’t spin. Crap.

I looked up the web site for the name on the spinner. http://oxo.com

I didn’t want to buy a whole new $65 salad spinner so I called the customer support number hoping to buy just a new lid. The lady took my name and address and said it’s on the way. I asked if she needed a credit card number to pay for it and she said “No, it’s covered by our better guarantee”.

Top notch. Thanks OXO!

Awesome! I've had similar experience with Weber. I love a company that stands by it's products instead of hiding behind their warranty.

Oxo makes excellent kitchen gadgets. I didn't know their guaranty was so good.

Wife loves hers,
They are definitely necessary for preparing salads in advance. Leaving the salad wet makes them slimy by the third day.

OXO is good to go. I have their pour over coffee maker and it’s my fault I goofed up the water chamber. I called to buy one and the lady said parts are not available. She said she would send me a complete new one, I said I’d pay for it because it was my fault. She refused that and sent me a new unit no charge, it arrived 2 days later. Pencil me down as a customer for life.

If ours broke my wife would have me up and ordering a new one from Amazon within the minute. She makes a lot of spinach and romaine salads and spinach souffles so it is invaluable for that.

Mark, you paid $65 for yours? Is it diesel powered? Eek Big Grin : I think we paid $25-30 for ours, tops.

Well, kudos to their customer service, but there's gross margin there for a metric crapton of free replacement parts.

It’s the Steel one. I’m not sure I paid $65 but that’s what the web site says. https://www.oxo.com/steel-salad-spinner-533.html. Wifey probably found a much better deal.

If it makes you feel better my 4 year old daughter's butt broke my wife's wooden spoon over the weekend. I doubt neither is covered by warranty. Big Grin

Definitely. Half my kitchen equipment is Oxo.

Me too. I love that thing. Combined with an electric kettle, a coffee grinder, and some whole coffee beans, it makes a way better cup of coffee than a Keurig with nearly the same amount of time and effort.

And unlike many pour-overs, there's no complicated procedure for distributing the water. You simply fill the reservoir with boiling water and the reservoir does all the work. You don't even have to stick around while it does its thing.

None of this unnecessarily elaborate bullshit like you see on some hipster pour-over coffee makers whose instructions are like: "Using a handcrafted copper kettle, pour 172.59 grams of exactly 205 degree water over the grounds in a counter-clockwise circular motion at a flow rate of 2.1 milliliters per second, taking 30 seconds per full rotation while allowing for an additional 10 second pause every 15 seconds, unless on the second full moon of a leap year, in which case..."

They do. Their stuff is almost always the best on the market, and when it's not it's in a second or third place (out of the dozens of other brands).
