Well, prosecutor decides what charge and evidently asked for the outcome.

If people start believing that the justice system is broken and not administering proper punishment, you might see more of these sorts of Charles Bronson style actions.

Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, also a former San Francisco D.A., is perhaps the most infamous of the George Soros funded commie D.A.s in the country. He basically brought up charges against the dead kid that did not fall under Three Strikes territory, the weakest possible charges that would get the kid out in no time. Gascon is such a scumbag, those working under him supported the recent recall effort to oust him.

One of his past acts was co-authoring Prop 47 that passed by a 60%-40% vote in 2014, decriminalizing a bunch of felonies, including shoplifting, commercial burglary, car break-ins, grand theft, forgery, drug use, etc. because he felt too many blacks were in prison. Gascon is the prototype, the pioneer of bringing the modern soft-on-crime mentality to major cities.
