What is the logic behind requiring a firearm transaction to go through two FFL's if it is an interstate FTF transaction? I am an Ohio citizen with an Ohio drivers license and CCW. Why can't I drive to Michigan or Indiana or anywhere for that matter and buy a gun from a federally licensed dealer providing I have picture ID? I totally get the requirements if it's shipped. But FTF I don't understand. It's a federal check they do on the purchaser, correct? Not a state check. _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. Doesn't say anything about FTF or shipping. Logic? It's the federal government. Q

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
Opponents of guns do anything they can to create roadblocks. Probably add into the bill by Democrats to get Republicans to go along with something else. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

If I’m reading what you are asking correctly, In most all states you can travel to other states and purchase a long gun. The handgun prohibition is due to big cities on a state border. To keep the bangers baby momma from driving to a bordering red state, buying a handgun and returning with it. Dumb, but the reasoning none the less.

I think that was a big Chicago thing. They tried to blame Indiana. They also blamed a gunshop in the south ‘burbs by the name of Chuck’s in Harvey but that place was probably doing dirty shit. _____________

It’s possible in some States with long guns. I bought a minty ‘Sweet-Sixteen’ in MI 1.5 years ago. I’ve bought long guns out of State a number of times, handguns a different matter. This is keeping things legal of course.

you can, as long as it is not a handgun or other, long guns (as in rifles and shotguns) can be bought by out of state residents , with proper ID, at any dealer (State laws may prohibit or require other hoops), handguns must be purchased in the state you reside, been that way since basically 1968 https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/
