I feel the exact opposite. While not religious, I believe in the power of prayer, there's been some scientific evidence of it. I've said a prayer for more people here than I ever have in 'real' life. I may not reply to every thread I pray for OP or their family, but almost always I do.

Besides that, I just think people like to know that someone is there for them or cares.

This i promise, you are doing no harm by doing no more than saying 'hoping the best for you and yours'.
