onegeekSimpliSafe is easy but uses everyday wifi. I don't know about other systems, but maybe use generic Alarm signs, not brand specific.
SimpliSafe’s home security system can be compromised by a $2 wireless emitter:

MikeinNCMy Shepard doesn’t bark at peopl, but god help us if a butterfly flaps thru our airspace....
We went with Vivant. Easy and it’s cheap for what we have, alarms on all windows and doors, fire some linked in..monitoring and two cameras. Easy to check the camera from our phones and it will lock the front door.

BurtonRWI’ve been fairly happy with SimpliSafe for several years now - enough that I upgraded to their current system, although my old one was working just fine.
As far as any possible wireless vulnerability, I would suggest that an alarm system is only one layer of home security.

That's why you need a couple Poms.

WarhorseI went with Frontpoint 3-4 years ago, expensive monitoring services($45) a month, but I think it's worth it.

trapper189I don't put the alarm company's sign in the same yard of the house that alarm is installed in. For example, I have an ADT sign at the house that has a SimpliSafe alarm.
The right dog can be fantastic.
