Hello, first let me apologize for asking this but I am quite confused and certainly don't want to piss off the ATF.
I have one of those little single shot 410 ( they used to call them Snake Charmers). I would like to shorten the barrel from 18" to about 14".... IS this legal ?? I have asked a couple of folks and get different answers.....I don't want to screw this up. Thanks for any info. mike

I personally don't know what a snake charmer is, but I'm assuming this a .410 break open shotgun with a stock. In which case going to 14" makes it an SBS. File a form 1 and be happy. no cost in the current situation. probably a couple of days wait to get it back.

The ATF says it will not enforce previous requirements to file the form 1. Not sure of your state laws. Will this change in the future? Maybe.

IMO nobody should rely on that. just file the form 1.
