We got started before mid May for the first time in years. Rebuilt the cucumber trellis and it’s a huge improvement. Top is the new build, bottom is the old haggard piece of junk.

Not yet for me. I wait til night time temps are over 50°. The peppers don't set fruit as well if the get cold temps. Old man that ran the nursery I use to get plants at told me I was planting too early, since then my crop is twice the size.

I've had tomatoes and tomatillos in the ground for a month plus peppers and okra in the ground for 2 weeks. I started the tomatoes, tomatillos, and peppers indoors under grow lights in early February.

I need to remember to plant the cilantro seeds and basil seeds in about 3 weeks. I primarily use them for salsa and marinara so if I plant too early they're not very good (e.g. cilantro bolts, basil is flowering, etc).

Skins, nothing in the ground yet. We’re just prepping the soil, got rid of some early weeds and I rebuilt that trellis. Seeds have been started in the greenhouse so once the temps are more stable and warm we should be ready.

Just native soil that we built up in a mound for potatoes. The boxes have garden soil from the yellow bags that you can see in the pic.

I got my onion sets and okra seeds in the ground over a month ago, and both are looking good. My pepper seeds have no germinated yet. May have to just purchase some pepper plants and plant them.

I am actually going to build a real fence for ours this year.
I have one post set but weather has not been cooperating on my days off.

Garlic (planted last fall) is up and the chives are green. Tomatoes and peppers were started indoors a few weeks ago and won't go out for at least another three weeks...maybe four. Nothing else planted yet. Woke up to 2" of snow on the ground this morning. I may be able to get the cold weather stuff in next week.

Purchased seedlings last week, now we have temps in the 40's, should have figured.

I do not plant in the ground before 5/10, too much chance of a freak freeze otherwise. This time of year is busy with many things, and tilling/making planting beds has to bubble up the priprity list. I've run the rototiller once to knock down some of the over-winter weeds, sure wish the veggies grew as fast as the weeds do. I have a large. opaque tarp that I am considering setting out to cover my vegetable garden over the winter, but I suspect that might be more work than turning soil, not less.

Awesome trellis. Due to deer, I’ve dropped back to mostly container gardening so plants can be moved to a deer free location as necessary. I have a tiny trellis for the cukes, and now I have inspiration!

WRT the deer, they are a problem here too. I have found a deterrent, if not a solution, motion-activated sprinklers. I set these up to cover the garden and activate upon sensing motion only when it is dark out. They are easy to set up and connect to a garden hose, and are very effective, much more so than my neighbor's fencing. Here is a LINK to what I am talking about. There are models with stakes, and others with a tripod. If you can find one with the tripod, it is worth the extra cost. You'll want a good garden hose with decent connectors that will hold pressure without leaking overnight or longer if you choose to leave it pressured up for an extended period. Probably wouldn't hurt to install a backflow preventer, and pressure reducer as appropriate at the hose bib.

Note that this effectively deters porch pirates and nighttime car snoopers as well, much better than motion-activated flood lights alone, although the latter are useful to see the perps slogging away after you hear the sprinkler come on.
