Well-to-do elderly White woman living alone had a Black housekeeper for many years. Woman even bought a car for the housekeeper. Then after the housekeeper retires, the woman even continued to write checks for her former employee. The housekeeper's son is the one who came to pick up the checks.

But one day, on July 3, he did more than that. He decided to rob his mother's former employer and in the process killed her too.

Sounds to me like she was under duress to keep the money flowing until she finally decided that it had to stop but the son thought otherwise and went to go straighten her out.
