Anyone running a Trijicon SRO on a P320 Pro Cut or regular optic plate slide?

My training buddy has an SRO on his Pro Cut slide that he uses in competition.

It works really well as it has a larger window than the RMR,which he also has mounted on another pistol, but it is not nearly as rugged.

Dinged/scratched easily? Things become loose? Dot shifted around/not zeroed?

The RMR is designed as the Service/Duty model while the SRO was designed as the Competition model. Trijicon doesn't recommend the SRO on a duty pistol

What the SRO gives up for the larger screen is the toughness of the "ears" of the RMR which protect it when dropped or bumped against something.

The housing design protects it from being bumped loose, cracking the screen, or having the dot shift/stop working.

I should add the disclaimer that I'm a Holosun fan, as the only thing I'm using a optic on my pistols for is competition

^^^ No, I get all that, manufacturer saying this and that. I'm asking you because of what you wrote. Important for me to know from first hand experience from members, and not from what manufacturer says, or even from any of the paid for gun rag or online reviews.

So if my experience happens to reflect what the manufacture claims, it's invalid?

The only difference is the size of the screen(s) and the ears on one frame. At least that has been our experience in using both. It isn't like we torture tested them.

What insightful revelation did you expect?

I have carried an SRO on a 9mm p320 full size duty pistol for the last year or so. No issues. Several other guys carrying them on duty with no issues and approximately ten guys on the swat team who are deploying with SRO’s, but only on Glocks as far as I can tell. Duty gun rides in a safariland 7365 holster that got dremeled a bit to accommodate the SRO. I haven’t dropped the gun on the optic in that time, but it has performed through all qualifications, classes with Lead Faucet Tactical and Presscheck Consulting., and several thousand hours of patrol work.

Off duty and in plain clothes I’ve been carrying a p320 Carry with an SRO and a Jagerworks BROS shield for about two years, no issues. The BROS adds some bulk to the optic, but it’s good insurance. If I could get it to fit in a duty holster with the shield I’d get another one for my duty gun.

I understand the SRO is “not designed for Duty Use” but for me the benefits of the larger window outweigh the slim possibility of accidentally breaking the optic.
