Anyone using digital business cards?
I spend a few days at a trade show recently, and a number of people were using digital business cards instead of old-school paper cards.

It looks like a slick concept; I don’t think I know enough about it yet. Surfing a bit today, I found a service called Canva helps create cards (and I know you can print from Canva at FedEx locations); also I found a site called MyQRCode which “builds” these cards, too.

I’ll tinker some more tonight, but thought I’d go ahead and post the question here too.

Whatcha know?

Yes I love it.
I use v1ce it has been flawless for about 5 years.

you can go online and change the content as you need to and the QR stays unique to you.

auto populates to the persons phone as a contact, they just need to click save, that puts all of your information in, and logo fully customizable.
I also print a paper card with the QR on it, I tell them they can pick their teeth with it later and save the contact in the phone, customers love it.

they also have tags, that I place in my office like a tap to pay, I have it on the end of the conference table, they tap it and it pulls up the contact.

i also keep one on my golf bag and briefcase to tap for people.

you can also add it to your phone to tap or scan

worth every penny

I've used Linq in the past, my experience was not as good as timdogg6's

I've been using QR code business card on my phone for a couple years now. My last paper business card was purchased solely for a visa application for a business trip where the country's immigration required a business card.

As far as trade shows, the oil & gas ones I've been to the badge they print has a QR code to your registration info

Check out the BlinQ app and see if it will do what you want.

Thank you all. I’ll take a look at those.

I can create a QR code with the info, but coding it such that it can be easily saved as a contact — that’s a skill I don’t have.

My daughter’s work gave her a blinq card. It sort of farms the recipient to use blinq. I didn’t like that at all. It makes it seem like a scam.

Thanks, Timdogg. I noticed that, too.

I haven’t nailed this one down yet; I’ll probably work on it some more over the weekend.

They gave us the virtual cards a while back. It’s got a proximity thing so that you put it close to their phone and it pops up, dot card. I think it is.

I hate it. I told them I would pay for my own cards if I had to. I like the QR idea, where they could maybe automatically import your info as a contact, but I want a physical card to be able to give to people. So that’s what I have. The dot card is in my leather folder somewhere, probably to never be used again.

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

As a customer I would be leary of a digital card. With all the spam we constantly get I would be reserved to scan your code with my phone. If I am looking for a software vender and this guy is like here let me see your phone, you can go F right off pal. No way are you automatically installing your contact info on my phone or who knows what else. I want a paper card because if I want your services I will contact you, I don't want you contacting me.

I use Dot and yes, some are reluctant to scan it. Old school business cards for them.
