I run trains!

Ended up trading in my 2018 F-150 on a 2022 Limited 4Runner this week. With three kiddos wanted the third row and the ability to keep stuff out of the elements. Never thought I’d have a daily driver that wasn’t a pickup. While I would have loved the off-road features of the TRD models, at 42 I appreciate the creature comforts of the Limited more. Still planning on some A/T tires and new rims. Maybe a Gamiviti roof rack as well.

All isn’t lost though. The whole reason this happened is because I picked up this 2007 Tacoma over the summer, found it for a steal. I ended up buying it outright to use as my work vehicle. I’m fortunate enough that I get a vehicle allowance in lieu of a company provided vehicle. I wanted something to put miles on that could take it without sweating repairs. It came to me with 248k already on it, and meticulous maintenance records to boot. Six speed MT and the 4.0L V6. This truck is more fun that it should be. Put some new tires and rims on it recently and it’s really looking good now.

That’s the plan with this one. Trying to line us up so that we have some decent used vehicles about the time kids need to start driving. Figure a 8-10 y/o 4Runner would be a good vehicle to send our oldest off to college in.

That said they’re all going to learn on and start by driving the Tacoma. Just in case they’re ever in an emergency and the only thing around to drive is a 1960’s era VW Beetle.

^^^ Good idea. Everyone should be able to drive a standard.

Nice looking trucks!

Congrats, went Highlander (21'). That should be a good rig as long as kids are very young. The 3rd seat is pretty useless on most of these rigs.

Congrats, I’ve got a 2022 4Runner SR5 and love it. This is my second Toyota. First was a 2001 Tacoma that had 219k on it when a girl decided to rear end me. It probably would have went another 80k easy.

I’ve got a friend with a limited that has 305k on it. He drives it back and forth from DFW to Philly probably once every few months, the thing just goes and goes.

Tell me about it. I told myself I wasn’t going to fret about the paint as it’s a work vehicle and sits outside 24/7. But after having it a few months I feel the need to wax the thing up really well.
