Anyone spending any amount of time on this forum has seen plenty of thread titles similar to this one. Now it's my turn.

A little over a week ago I posted a request for sources for nylon watchbands. A number of people replied with good suggestions (thanks again to all of you). David responded that he had nylon watch bands; send size and color and he would ship me what I needed no charge. I emailed him that I needed several and would feel better if I could pay him for them. He told me he could send three, gratis. They arrived today and fill the bill nicely. Stand up guy, and very generous, to boot. Look to him for your jewelry needs; he will treat you right.

No, he's not all that. I asked him if he had a couple of Rolexes he can send me gratis. He wrote back, "Are you out of your effing mind?"

On the other hand, I sent him a Tag Heuer to fix because the stem was sluggish to turn. Not only did he fix it and maintained the insides, he polished the outside and it looked brand spanking new. It's like you bring your car to the mechanic to fix the transmission and it comes back fixed and newly painted.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
