Black92LXWhat not too shiny tire shine???
Never really been big on tire shine. Usually just a quick scrub with a brush and simple green.
What is a good tire shine that is not bad for the rubber and does not look super drippy wet but has a little shine to it?

sig77I just get this stuff this week at under 3.00. Really cheap and not too shiny. Will be doing this again.

Doc H.Griot's is pretty good, and you can control the level of shine:

bigdealIts not "drippy wet" that's the issue, its the gooey mess cheap tire shines leave on the tires to both flip off all down the side of your vehicle when you drive or that dirt and other road crap attaches to. And most cheap tire shines won't survive a single afternoon rain shower. You'll only find junk at the auto parts stores.

Good - Stoner More Shine Better - Chemical Guys - VRP Super Shine Best - No such thing.

ChowserI use 303 aerospace protectant on my tires. Not wet. Not glossy. Just a nice matte finish that doesn’t sling.

BassamaticWalk down the cleaning aisle at your local auto parts store. There is a ton of tire shine stuff. Pretty much pick out what you like. I've had good results from Meguiars and Mothers.

TMatsThe gold standard for non-gloss tire cleaners for years has been Westley’s Bleche Wite. Unfortunately, I understand the company was bought by Black Magic, and the reviews aren’t good. Sounds like they changed the formula. Now I don’t know what to recommend—or what to use myself.

As an interior protectant, 303 is good. However, it is one of the worst for longevity when applied to the exterior of a vehicle. Even a light rain storm will cause it to wash off.

Everything you find there will be silicone or petroleum based, neither of which is good for your tires over the long haul. If that's all people are willing to spend, I recommend they simply focus on getting their tires and wheels clean and then call it a day.

nasigIf you have many car dealers near you there is a place where they all get their detailing supplies from. I go to a place like that and get whatever they carry. They usually have a water soluble and non soluble version. i like the way the water soluble versions work

jeeperxdI use Pinnacle Black Onyx tire gel. Not cheap but gives the look of a deep black without the gloss.

BassamaticI'll be darned. Black Magic used to be quite good. Their Tire Black worked well but it is a glossy shine. I think I still have some.

Not everything you find there is petroleum based. Meguiars makes water based cleaners and I have found Mothers FX to be pretty good as well.

GeorgeairI'll look at what I have in cabinet, it's worked well for me. It's one of those that has cleaner AND treatment in two separate bottles. In my experience using the actual cleaner instead of soap, or using a combo tire and wheel cleaner and coating tires along with wheels, makes a big difference.
This stuff goes on shiny but not as bad as others, and dries to a more dull finish. Best part is it doesn't sling off AND holds up in light to moderate rain better than any of the others.
I thought it was Chemical Guys, but nothing in my order history there so I'll have to look to remember. Color me old.....

recoatliftAnother vote for 303..I like all their products.
I buy their products from eBay, usually most competitive prices. I apply to all rubber & plastic trim and interior. Like suntan lotion for vehicles. Leaves the tires with no more shine than O.E.M. 303 is an excellent product line.

bettysnephewI have used Ru Glyde for many years. It is a tire mounting compound that is for the beads of tires when installing. The coating may be the same that new tires have when from the manufacturer. Semi matte look like a brand new tire. I picked up a gallon from a local auto parts store. I am sure NAPA or other stores that deal with the more commercial side of the business will have it, not so much the generic auto stores.
