So many of the talented musicians from my childhood passing on. And the family oriented progams they hosted years will never be seen again. Like so many who have posted, many memories from watching Mr. Clark on Hee Haw.

Those times seem ages ago .

Farewell, Roy.

This is sad news for me I grew up watching him in the 70s. It was he and Earl that inspired me as a teen to take up banjo when banjo wasn’t cool in MN. But he could play so many more instruments. Watching him play “Under The Double Eagle” is just amazing. RIP Roy you will be missed.

Sad to hear the passing of "Grinnin'." He will be greatly missed. I grew up in a Hee Haw family so he was a big part of my life back in a simpler time. Roy Clark of Meherrin, Virginia, popoulation 1,838....saaaaaluuuuuute!!!

My old hunt club in Meherrin, VA purchased his childhood home and use it as the clubhouse. While doing the repairs we found several guitar pike between floorboards and under wall trim. Oh the stories those picks could tell.

I liked Hee Haw as a kid, but I like it even more now. Roy was my favorite, and boy he could play that banjo! I ran across this on youtube:

Roy Clark on Beverly Hillbillies

I never knew he could play the fiddle too!

RIP Roy, you were truly one of the great ones.
