12131Police intercept pedophile, kill him a lot
Back to the actual mêlée. It appears/sounds like the initial shot was from the pedo's gun. When he "pulled it out", the cop grabbed it and pressed back into his chest, and that's when you hear the first shot and can see smoke coming from the jacket. Cops didn't start shooting until 3 - 4 secs later, when pedo was still a threat.
Oh, what's with the gangsta style shooting the cop on the left displayed?

400mI’ll be the first to admit that cops today can overstep quite a bit. But if you pull a gun on a cop, what else do you expect? Good shoot as far as I can tell.

MuddflapWell, I’m not an expert, but it looks like they took the trash out.

Regardless of what he might have done prior, that decision initiated everything that followed. At that point everything else was moot.

Good shoot.

darthfusterI wonder if he knew he’d be shot and took the easy way out. Who could know and who cares beyond a shrug? For some gratifying entertainment, read a short story by Dean Koontz called Nameless. It’s a plot germane to the thread topic. I think there’s an audio version too. Very satisfying.

Two children who had their own motel room? It is strange.
So we'd have to assume he was meeting some adult who was supposed to be the intermediary between him and the children obviously.
Thing is he's already got his hand on (or almost on) the gun when the door opens. Isn't that a bit odd? How's this for your Hollywood twist, "pedophile killing vigilante shows up to off someone and save two children, get's riddled with holes himself!"
Unlikely I know, but hey....

parabellumLikely, he thought it might be a setup to be robbed. That's why he had a pistol at the ready. He had cash money on him for sure.
If he thought police were behind the door, he wouldn't have shown up.

sigfreundIf one draws a gun when unexpectedly confronted by several uniformed police officers, it probably won’t matter whether one is a good guy attempting to do something good.

YooperSigsWhen you start looking into child sex trafficking, there are adults (parents, too) who are fronts for people wanting to meet kids. That can explain the motel meeting setup.

casTo be fair, if one was all ready to draw anyway (say he was afraid of being setup and robbed), large bodies rushing through the door at you might make you do it, without enough time to register how they were dressed.

Yes, you have it. Absolutely right. It's obvious to me.
He wasn't there to meet cops and shoot them. Things just happened too quickly and he ended up being turned into a large colander.

casNo, he was probably a pedophile there for horrible reasons, no doubt.
My point is if you're keyed up and ready to pull your pistol because you think people are going to jump out and grab you, then people jump out and try to grab you, you do just what you were ready to do. lol
When or if it registered who it actually was that was grabbing him.. well that quickly became irrelevant.

radiomanI just realized where this is. SEATAC Double Tree in the Tukwila neighborhood. Just a mile or so from the airport.
By no means a shithole hotel. It least it wasn't in the past.
That's the inside Atrium. Depending on the time of day, there may have been a bunch of people at the coffee shop or bar below thinking, "what the heck is going on....."

Well. Don’t do stupid shit and it would have never happened whether it would be bad guys setting him up or uniform officers.
