Evening guys,

Has anyone come across an indication that there will be a re-release of the Vicker's Sig guide?

Anybody have one and what are your thoughts about the guides? I have the 1911 and HK guides and I really enjoy them.

Cheers!

With what happened with Vickers, I suspect that is not going to happen.

That's what I'm worried about, although it seems like the next volume of the HK book is on track?

I have the Sig Guide, Volume 1. Wife bought it for me a few years ago. It's massive. Heavy. The text is very compressed and minimal because it is profusely illustrated. I did learn some things from reading it; primarily things about the P226/P228/P229/P220, which are my main interests. From a Sig historical and collector's standpoint, it's a good addition, but from an informational perspective, I prefer Sig Forum.

It's probably worth the investment if you were to find one.

The HK Volume 3 should be released in a few months and they are working on Volume 4. Larry will be signing the HK Vol 3 like he has with all of the books (for extra $$), so I'm guessing he is still involved in some capacity with the Vicker's series.

Vickers just posted something on his facebook page the other day. It was a package from the Vickers Guide folks. He seemed to be hinting at a new product.

I suspect that he'll keep working the Vicker's guides for as long as he can. It's an income stream. Technically, he dosen't even need to hand the guns, they can be photographed by the same folks who have been taking pictures for him. He just needs to be able to arrange access to the guns.

I have the AR15 books. They are neat. I thought I lost my Volume One (or forgot who I lent it to), so my wife got me a Second Edition of that volume.

I won't invest in a first edition of anything else in the Vicker's Guide series. The second edition of that book had way more content; both images and text. All of it was significant value-added.

I would wager that there will always be a second edition, because that's more money for anyone involved. I recommend anyone interested wait for a second edition, if there isn't already one for the volume you're interested in.
