mark123I got me a set of super fancy guitar pickups today
A few years back, P220 Smudge made me a fresh set of Lollar P90s for my Les Paul and quite frankly they are superb.
I have a guitar that I've begun working on after it's sat in storage for years. So I asked him if he had anything laying around. Well, we came to an agreement and they arrived today. Unfortunately, the guitar isn't ready for pickups yet (needs painted, a new nut and a pickguard. So I decided to put them into my Strat today. Let me tell you, these pickups are every bit as good as the P90s he made me.
(ugh, I've got to replace those ugly white switch cap and vibrato bar tip)
They are a couple of Lollar El Rayo humbuckers and a Royal T single coil. The Strat came with a set of rather lifeless "Vintage Noiseless" that I put a treble bypass into to liven it up a bit. Still, they were kind of blah. These Lollars woke this thing up like you wouldn't believe.
Thanks for the pickups brother Smudge!

EdmondWhat did you have those P90s in?
I really need an electric guitar. I have an amp picked out already: Vox AC4.

P220 SmudgeI hope you enjoy them, my friend. They already look better in that guitar than the one they were in less than a week ago. Black, red, and gold is a fine combo. Also, the white switch tip doesn’t look bad, that white layer in the pickguard kinda pulls it all together.

mark123I did intend these pickups for the Washburn but they look so nice in the Strat that I’m probably going to keep them there. I’ll be remaking the pickguard to better fit the Royal T and eliminating the tone control holes.

rbert0005Good luck if you plan on just swapping the black tip for the white tip on your bar.
It's a chore for sure. At the very least, you should consider drilling a hole thru the end of the tip to let the gasses out when you try to put the tip on.
I did the whole bit. Put the tip in boiling water and the bar in the freezer and it still came out like shit.
I just replaced the bar with a new one.

I’ll either replace the whole bar or throw it in the parts box. I never use it.

Rick LeeGot my partscaster back from the tech yesterday, who was setting up my new Musikraft neck. It's a one humbucker Strat-style body with a red mirror pickguard. I went to change the pickup after band practice and broke the damned pickguard. So now it sits with no guts while I wait for another. I got to play it for three hours at band practice and now it's dead again.

I have one. It is a nice practice amp!
Recently I purchased a Fender Mustang micro. It is pretty awesome for a headphone amp! Great sounds, not bothering anyone else, and recording possibilities.

Are you thinking the little humbuckers? Do you want hotter output or noiseless operation?
